My first Glossybox unboxing!

I’ve been threatening to invest in a Glossybox for longer than I care to remember.

I never managed to quite get around to parting with my hard earned cash, especially for
something I wasn’t sure I’d even like.

This month however I finally bit the bullet and before I knew it my little box filled with beauty goodness was winging its way to my desk.

I’m sure many of you are already Glossybox aficionados or have seen many a blog post on an ‘unboxing’, but I was so bowled over with what came my way this Tuesday, I really wanted to write about it.

I made my decision to order on Friday, and four days later, poof, there it was. From London to Dublin and taking the weekend into account I thought this was a very quick turn around.

The box itself was Valentines themed with the word ‘Love,’ stencilled in a super-cute pink font across the top. Inside you could find your goodies delicately wrapped in tissue, sealed with a pink sticker, and wrapped in fuchsia pink ribbon.

So what was inside this pink box of goodies?

ROYAL APOTHIC
TINTIES LIP BUTTER IN PINK

The minute I opened the box I fell in love with this gorgeous little lip butter. I’m a real sucker for pretty packaging, and I love the way this vintage-style tub looks on my vanity table.
The product itself is a wonderful texture and contains lots of soothing ingredients like argan, grapeseed and almond oils, along with a healthy dose of shea butter to keep that pout moisturised. As a self-confessed lip product fiend, I love the fact that I finally have a weapon in my arsenal that’s all about lip care as well as kissability.

MARSK MINERAL EYE SHADOW
FIFTY SHADES

This product is inspired by the controversial Fifty Shades of Grey and is a cute little product to throw in your makeup bag on a Friday night. Personally I’ve never been a grey eye shadow sort of person, with big brown eyes I’m a much bigger fan of warm golds and earthy browns. However the texture of this mineral shadow is quite nice, and it can be applied for a sheer look during the day and they layered upon for night-time use. If you want to be part of the beauty pack this season, you could also use it as an eyeliner for a metallic glow.

SO SUSAN
LIP QUARTET

This was my first time using a product by So Susan, and the one thing that struck me the most about this little set is its duality. For use on your lips and cheeks, this little quartet packs a real punch with pretty shades in various pinks. What I loved about this product is how easy it is to combine the different shades. For work this week I found myself wearing the fuchsia colour on my lips, and then shading it out on my cheeks, but for dinner and drinks I could create a really cool colour clash for a more daring look.

WILKINSON
HYDRO SILK SWORD

I was more than a little surprised when I opened my box to find this inside. I had this preconceived notion that I’d be receiving the latest and greatest beauty hero’s exclusively. But, the more I thought about it, the more it’s inclusion really seemed to some up what Glossybox is all about, equipping you with the beauty essentials. A must for any beauty arsenal.

FACE D
DARK CIRCLE CREAM

Exclusively available to the Irish Glossybox customers, Face D is an incredible cream that works at banishing dark circles and fine lines. It is one of my favourite products in the box because as well as being an eye cream it doubles up as an awesome makeup primer around the eyes. Who doesn’t love double trouble?

I’ll be signing up for another box this month. Have you ever had a Glossybox experience? What have your favourite products been?
