January can be a tough month for most of us. Nearly everyone’s broke, on a diet or partaking in an attempt to stay away from the booze for the four weeks.
It’s cold, wet, windy and miserable and there’s often times not a lot to smile about. It was that thought that gave me inspiration for my latest post.
I’ve decided that each month I’m going to write a short and simple post about the things that made me smile this month, pulled me out of a funk and made me feel good about myself.
So check it out below, the things I’m currently loving,…
The Rainbow Maxi Featherweight Ebury, Anya Hindmarch.
This beauty was a Christmas/birthday present to myself last year and I’ve worn it nearly every day since I got it.
I adore the soft tan leather of this bag as well as the smooth suede on the inside, plus, that rainbow graphic on the front? So bloody cool.
For those of you who may not know, Anya Hindmarch is a British designer known for her super-funky graphics and excellent craftsmanship with stores all over the world. I do work in her store in Kildare, but I that just means I get to spend 32 hours a week in my happy place.
Anyway! Back to the bag! If I was asked how I would describe my style it would be classic with a little bit of edge and this is exactly the sort of bag that ties pretty much all my outfits together.
The White Witch Connemara Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser, with Irish oats, honey and wild flowers.
I recently picked up this cleanser along with a few other bits from this organic Irish skincare brand and to say that I’m in love is an understatement.
The cleanser contains oatmeal, chamomile flowers, marigold petals, lavender flower tops and wild honey. I know right? It just sounds so good for you! I’ve never tried any beauty product that was completely made from pure natural ingredients and now I think I may NEVER go back.
The trick with this cleanser is to pop a teaspoon of the powder into the palm of your hand and add warm water to make a paste. Apply it all over face and neck (expect a sensation similar to rubbing cold porridge on yourself) and then let it sit for 5 minutes before rinsing.
My face has honestly never looked this good. My skin feels silky smooth and super-clean, but nearly instantly my complexion looked brighter and the red patches on my cheeks less were not as bright as usual.
I’m gonna take my time with this one and do a proper review for you all on my recent skincare haul from White Witch Connemara but as for right now, I adore it!
The Frank Stationery, Twenty Seventeen Daily Planner, in black and gold.
At this stage, I’d nearly given up hope of bagging myself a decent diary for 2017. Who could have possibly predicted the pre-Christmas rush on Kate Spade and Ban.do diaries?!
When I finally got my arse in gear and started looking for one ( in mid January), there wasn’t one to be found anywhere! A fact for which I am now so thankful for.
One night while desperately perusing Etsy for a suitable candidate I stumbled on this baby and the rest is history.
They look totally luxe and include little touches of mindfulness throughout. A great buy for a stationary fiend!
So there you have it, the three things I’m loving for the month of January. Were there any special pieces that made you smile? Let me know in the comments, or tweet me at @wildechicblog
